Tam High Foundation Awards $145,000 in Mini-Grants

'This was the best year for grants'
-THF Grant Committee Chairs, Karen Betzner & Jayne Greenberg

At the October 12 Tam High Foundation Board meeting, a record number of teacher initiated mini-grants (less that $10,000 per grant) were approved for funding. Thanks to the generous donations from the Tam High community and our local business partners, the Foundation will invest over $145,000 this fall in exciting programs and projects that truly make a difference for every student at Tam. The Foundation’s major grant (greater than $10,000 per grant) evaluation and allocation process takes place in the spring.

Grant Committee Chairs Karen Betzner and Jayne Greenberg summed up the process with the following:
'From our point of view, this was the best year for grants. Most every department was represented and it’s clear that the funds donated from the parents will benefit all students. We really appreciate the Tam staff taking the time to research and submit proposals that are both innovative and practical. We realize the Tam staff is very busy at the beginning of the school year and we thank them.'

Tam Students and the Tam High Foundation Need You

Tam High Foundation

Parents have been talking since Back to School night!  Likely you have heard the “buzz”—that Tamalpais High is a remarkable school.  Much is being said about the stellar caliber of our Tam teachers and coaches, the inspiring presentations, the beautiful facilities, the well-equipped classrooms and labs and much more.  At Back to School night, we remembered why we love Tam and learned even more about Tam’s excellence!

If you were able to attend Back to School night, you heard teachers in every department thank the Tam High Foundation (THF).  When they thank the Tam High Foundation, they are really thanking YOU, our parents, business and community supporters and volunteers who are the Foundation.

Every year the students of Tam and the Tam High Foundation need YOU to provide the funds that help keep Tam at its current level of excellence, and strive for more!  YOU make possible so many crucial programs, from high quality technology such as laptops in the library, to academic workshop, to critical support for the languages, the sciences and the arts.

Our Annual Campaign is in full swing. The THF Board has done the calculations.  To maintain and expand Tam’s excellence, we need $600 this year for every student at Tam.

We also need 100% parent participation.  Please join in and give at whatever level you can.  You will feel terrific knowing you are supporting our Tam students.

Review the adjacent remit form to learn about the many options for giving to the Annual Campaign.  Then just clip and mail in the remit form with your check.  Or, go to tamhighfoundation.org and donate online.  Click on “Donate Now” on the Foundation home page.  For the Business Campaign, complete the remit form with your business information or e-mail the THF office at info@tamhighfoundation.org.
